Environment and CO2

Focus on the environment and CO2 emissions

When it comes to taking care of the environment, we at Liso Logistics believe that everyone can make a difference – including transportation companies!

Our industry is neither carbon neutral nor sustainable by default, even though we use trucks that meet the highest environmental standards on the market. There are currently no better alternatives that can handle the long distances we cover on a daily basis.

But we can all do something to be a little greener. It is in everyone’s interest – including ours.

Tutor in green driving

All drivers who drive for us are guided on how to drive green. It is part of our guidelines and it is in our interest, as it is in the interest of the environment.

The way you drive has a big impact on CO2 emissions. For example, you can reduce fuel consumption – and therefore CO2 emissions – by 6-8% by lowering speed by just 5 km/h on roads and highways. In fact, such a small effort can reduce a truck’s fuel consumption by over 240 liters in a month. That is why we pay a lot of attention to drivers’ driving style.

Skilled dispatching

Our skilled dispatchers put an enormous amount of time and effort into optimizing drivers’ routes.

They do this so that we can transport as much freight as possible in the fewest possible kilometers and so that the trailer is loaded in the most optimal sequence. This applies both in terms of route direction, but also to make the best possible use of the trailer’s charge meters. More freight in fewer kilometers means less diesel consumption and Co2 emissions.

They also take into account urgent jobs or specific requests from customers who may arrive at the last minute before departure. It may sound simple, but it is actually a bit of a puzzle that our dispatchers solve every day. And they are happy to do so – both for our customers and for the environment.

You too can make a difference to the environment

In addition to choosing a carrier that thinks about driving as green as possible, you can also do something for the environment by thinking about your own driving style. Below you can see examples of some of the things we guide drivers on that you can easily follow yourself:

  • Slow down so you use less fuel
  • Use cruise control as much as possible to maintain a constant speed
  • Minimize braking by anticipating traffic and releasing the accelerator early
  • Let the car roll five towards a red light or merges where braking is ahead
  • Feel free to skip a gear or two at startup
  • Avoid idling – it’s an unnecessary waste of fuel
