Environment and CO2

Focus on Environment and Co2 Emissions

At Liso Logistics, we believe that everyone can play an active part in caring for the environment – including transport companies!

Our line of business is not known to be neither co2 neutral nor sustainable, although every truck in our available fleet meets the highest environmental requirements of the market. Currently, there are no greener alternatives to Euronorm 6 trucks that can manage the long distances we leave behind us every day.

But we can all try to do greener. It is important to all – including us.

Guidance in green driving

We offer education on green driving to all the drivers we use. Driving style has a great impact on the amount of co2 emissions. For instance, by reducing the speed with 5 km/h on main roads or motorways, fuel consumption (and thereby co2 emissions) is lowered with 6-8 %. In fact, this small effort results in a reduced fuel consumption of more than 240 liters per month for one truck. Therefore, we pay much attention to educating the drivers.

Clever optimisation work

Our freight forwarders put an extreme amount of time and work into optimising the drivers’ routes to drive smarter and reduce fuel consumption. The aim is to transport as much goods as possible on fewest possible kilometers and also, to load goods in the most suitable order – considering the route as well as effective utilization of the trailer. On top of that, they also fit urgent deliveries and specific last call requests from the customers into the tight driving schedules. It may sound simple, but in fact it is quite a puzzle that our freight forwarders put together every day. But they do so with pleasure – for our customers and for the environment.

You too can make a difference to the environment

Besides choosing an environmentally conscious transporter, who prioritises green driving, you too can make a difference by focusing on your own driving style. Listed below are e few examples of our drivers’ focus points, which are easy for you to follow as well:

  • Reduce speed to consume less fuel
  • Use cruise control whenever possible to keep speed steady
  • Minimise braking situations by predicting traffic and letting go of the accelerator well before
  • Let the car wheel towards a red light or road junctions, where braking awaits ahead
  • Skip a gear or two when accelerating
  • Do not leave the engine running – it is an unnecessary waste of fuel
